Every home in Stanton Ridge is part of a semi-private sewer system, where each house has a grinder pit and pump which feeds a community wastewater treatment facility located adjacent to the Golf Operations Building at the end of Dogwood Drive. This wastewater treatment facility is operated by AQUA, who works productively with the neighborhood and the Country Club.
Unfortunately, these systems require maintenance and with our homes passing 20-25 years of age we’ve noticed an increase in failures. On each property there should be a manhole cover within 15-20 feet of the house, and typically 15-20 feet from the curb. When opening the manhole covers, you will see a check valve and mechanicals as shown below.
Notice, if there is a failure of any mechanism on the left (house) of the shut off valve, it falls under the umbrella of homeowner’s responsibility. Currently, this is the overwhelming majority of failures that we are seeing. If the issue lies between the check valve and the street, the wastewater treatment operator, AQUA, may be responsible. If you need to get your system serviced/inspected, we have listed some local companies that have been recommended or used by other homeowners in the past. This is not an exhaustive list, so if you find another company that proves to be knowledgeable and helpful, please reach out to management so we can share the info with others.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to our Community Manager, Erin: erin@matrixpmgroup.com, or the HOA Board if you need any guidance with your grinder pump. Thank you and good luck!
